Although many share the passion that Steve has for marine sportfishing, few, if any, have the ability to capture it's images as realistically. His talent, combined with an intimate knowledge of his subjects, inspired him to develop his own style employing pen & ink over watercolor, a medium that has become his signature among marine artists.

Painting from his studio in Wilmington, Steve is able to bring to life the creatures and scenes associated with ocean fishing that embody the deep emotion he feels towards the sport. "To accomplish this without having to destroy my subjects, which are released to swim and fight again, is the inspiration that keeps me creative."
